My friends gave me an INGLOT gift certificate for my birthday. INGLOT is a brand I’ve been following for a while, and was one happy lady when they finally set up shop here in Kishinev.
Though my initial impulse was to try a colour I’ve never used before, or maybe just go for another nail polish, I went for basics in the end. Much like with my wardrobe, my makeup stash lacks good quality basic elements. INGLOT eye shadows are high quality, so getting neutrals from them is a good idea.
I went for three AMCs and two matte shadows. They were all bought as separate singles, as I was also getting a palette. I love the no-frills black cardboard with a slight sheen. I always say that I love the no-frills black packaging, but then again, it’s true. Simple black packaging all the way.
Apologies for the blurry shot. Low winter light is my enemy (rather, my poor time management skills are my enemy, but let’s not point fingers).

The palette comes with a magnetic lid. It’s very easy to open, and you can open it in full, yet it closes securely. When you’re using the palette, just stick the lid to the bottom of the pan. Very convenient. I’m sure with time the magnets will lose some of their power, but for now it feels very sturdy, and I’m not worried it’s going to open in my handbag should I decide to take this palette with me.
The lid is matte, but see-through.
I needed a five-piece palette, but unfortunately they ran out of them. So I went for a four-piece one. The fourth slot perfectly fits either two shadows, or a blusher/ highlighter.
I love the minimal look of the palette and its functionality. It’s heavy, feels hefty, and isn’t one bit flimsy. I’m pretty sure if I didn’t know the quality of INGLOT products, I’d’ve bought something from the brand for the palette alone.
All the shades are easily discernible through the frosted lid.

I’ve already worn both the 25 and 405, but 405 hasn’t been given a proper test yet. The 25 one, though, has great staying power, minimum fall-out, and applies really well.

The 355 you can barely see against my skin, but that’s what I was going for. I wanted a shade that would help me even out the tone of my eyelids, and also add an extra layer of shadow so that the colours I’m working with would stay better. This is also good for cleaning the area around brows.
The darkest matte I haven’t really worked with yet. Used it as an eyeliner shade for my lower lash line, and the slightest amount in the outer V and crease. The swatch above makes it look rather chalky, and I’m afraid it just might be. This is a colour that could also work well for my brows, so I do not despair.
The AMC 21 has a touch more fallout than AMC 25, but the staying power is as great. It’s very smooth, almost creamy. Very easy to work with.
Overall I’m very pleased with this purchase, and as time goes by, I’ll write deeper reviews of each shadow. Definitely getting more of these when I have the chance.
